Dentures

Dentures can replace some or many missing teeth. They are the treatment of choice when there are too many teeth missing to place a bridge and implants are not suitable. Several appointments are required to ensure your dentures fit snugly in your mouth and harmonise nicely with your remaining natural teeth.

Dentures are worn all day and will appear like your natural teeth. Dentures should be removed at night and placed in a glass of water. It is important that the dentures are kept wet all night as the material from which they are made will change shape if they dry out and this will affect their fit.

Removing your dentures at night allows your gums a rest and your mouth time to be exposed to your natural saliva, without the denture getting in the way.

If you wear dentures and do or do not have any natural teeth, dental check-ups are very important. Mouth cancers can occur under your dentures and go unnoticed for years. Through regular check-ups, we can ensure your mouth is in optimal oral health beneath your dentures.
